If it’s an emergency, do this while you wait
- Stop running water anywhere in the building, including dishwashers and washing machines, which dump a lot of water into a line that can’t take it.
- Don’t keep flushing a toilet that isn’t clearing. It will overflow before it clears.
- Skip the chemical drain opener. It rarely clears a real blockage, and it makes the line hazardous for whoever opens it next.
- If a sewage pump alarm is sounding, stop using every below-grade fixture until we arrive.
- If water is near an electrical panel or outlets, keep clear of it and call us from a safe spot.
